Shrewsbury CEREC
If you have a damaged or broken tooth that needs to be replaced, you can have this done in two different ways at our dental practice, Quinsigamond Dental. Our dentist, Dr. Jack Xu, can provide you with either a permanent porcelain crown, or a permanent
Shrewsbury CEREC crown.
In order to get a regular dental crown, you need to make several trips to our dental practice. First, an impression of the tooth needs to be taken so that a permanent crown can be fabricated at a dental laboratory. However, if you do not want to have to wait for the crown to be created, and then visit our dental practice for one or two fittings, then you contact us to learn about our Shrewsbury CEREC crowns. When a patient chooses to get CEREC crowns, they can have dental work performed and get a dental crown all in one short office visit. No impressions need to be taken when you get CEREC crowns. Instead, CAD/CAM computer technology is used to take pictures of your mouth where the crown will be placed, and then our in-office milling station will actually mill the crown from a single block of material. The milling itself only takes about 15 minutes, so patients are able to leave our office in just a short amount of time. Our dentist will make sure that the CEREC crown completely color-matches your tooth, and that it is perfectly comfortable in your mouth. Once the CEREC crown is permanently attached to the tooth on that same day, you will not need to return to our office for any follow-up care for the CEREC crown.
